Balkansky Trio Concert

Balkansky is an audio-visual project featuring
Theodosii Spassov. This concert could be succinctly characterized as
world music with an emphasis of jazz forms. Theodosii Spassov is an
internationally renowned Kaval (Bulgarian wooden flute) player and
UNESCO world artist who has been performing Bulgarian folk music on the
world stage for decades. Balkansky is an audio-visual art project that
combines traditional Bulgarian music with electronic sound and vision.
It was initially realized in a collaboration between Ivo “Kuker”
Christov and Ivan Shopov. Later, the musical legend Theodosii Spassov
joined the project and, nowadays, all three artists present the project
live all around the world. When the project is presented as a live act
it includes music performed by Theodosii Spassov, mixed with electronic
sounds and beats by Ivan Shopov and interactive visuals from Ivo
Christov. These elements combine to produce a musical experience
synthesizing a jam session of images and music in a unique artistic
creation, a combination of contemporary technology and musical
