Winter Celebrations in our Ethnic Communities – Leaders Roundtable

December 6, 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Bring your favorite holiday snacks and drinks to this gathering and enjoy brief presentations on winter celebrations from representatives of seven communities: Afghan, African American, Filipino, Hungarian, Jewish, Norwegian, and Uzbek. We’ll give you a chance, too, to tell us something about your own traditions and celebrations.

Presentations include the following, with comments from you welcomed on how you celebrate winter holidays.

Afghan – Winter Solstice; African American – Kwanzaa; Hungarian – St. Nicolas Eve; Jewish – Hanukkah; Norwegian – Lucia Bride and other Christmas Traditions; Filipino – Parols (handmade stars) and other traditions; Uzbek – New Year Celebrations
